"3 spectres dressed in finery and silence, with eyes that remember the light." This set of taxidermy-inspired cards depict a crow, a fox and a goat in formalwear. Their glowing eyes pierce straight into yours.
Design a set of 3 sale-ready illustrated prints and a packaging solution based on a personal interest.
Hand sketches started the process with some woodland animals in formalwear.
A muted palette was chosen for their darker hues and velvet-esque style. Different outfits and accessories were tried out.
Most details were in place by now, the palette nailed down, and final changes to outfits were made. To see the eyes better, the crow's monacle became half-moon spectacles on his beak.
Finally, fur/feather details were placed, and glowing white eyes were added to enhance the creepy, omniscent nature of the dead's view of us from beyond the veil.
The prints were packaged in a matching box, designed using the same hues and matching the vintage feel.
